What is Friens?
Friens is an app for actually meeting your friends instead of just chatting. You see who is free today, make plans in three taps and go to events together. And if meeting new people doesn’t come easy to you, for example because of social anxiety, courage mode suggests small steps at your own pace.
Is Friens free?
Yes, Friens is free on iPhone and Android.
When is the app coming out?
Soon. Friens is coming to the App Store and Google Play. There is no fixed date yet. Just check back anytime.
How does Friens protect my location?
Others only see your approximate distance, never your exact location. With Friens Neighbours, your home zone stays on your phone and is rounded to about 400 metres; your address never leaves the device. You only share your live location if you want to, for example on your way home. Instead of photos, you show an avatar.
What are World ID and the face scan?
To make sure only real people use Friens, you prove once that you’re human: with World ID or, on iPhone, with the face scan. The face scan is only a liveness check, not face recognition. The camera image and 3D data stay on your iPhone and are not stored; Friens only remembers that and when you were verified. Friens Neighbours requires World ID.
What are Friens Neighbours and Friens Events?
Friens Neighbours helps you get to know people in your neighbourhood. You only see each other if you both want to, and you can go invisible at any time. With Friens Events you find gigs, flea markets or running clubs near you, see which of your friends are going, and go together.
