Delete your account
You can delete your Friens account yourself at any time. You do it right in the app, and it only takes a few seconds.
How to do it in the app
- 1Open Friens and tap “Me” at the bottom.
- 2Scroll all the way down and tap “Delete account”.
- 3Confirm with “Delete for good”.
Your account is then deleted immediately and for good, and you are signed out on all devices. This cannot be undone.
What gets deleted
- Your profile with name, avatar and email address
- Your friendships and friend codes
- Your verification by face scan or World ID
- Meetups you created, with everything posted in them
- Your posts in group feeds and your expenses in the kitty
- Your RSVPs, check-ins and saved events
- Your sign-ins on all devices and the tokens for notifications
What stays for a while
- Backups: up to 14 days
- We back up our database every day and keep each backup for 14 days. Until then, deleted data can still be in them. After that it is gone automatically. We only use backups to restore data after an outage.
- Shared meetups on other accounts
- Other users may still see your first name in entries about meetups you shared, for example in their check-in.
- Reports
- If you reported someone or were reported, we remove the link to your account. The description of the report is kept for our records.
- Server logs
- Technical logs with IP addresses are overwritten continuously. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.
Delete without the app
You no longer have the app or can’t get into your account? Email us with the subject “Delete account”. Please write from the email address you use for Friens. That way we know the account is yours.

We usually delete the account within one or two working days and confirm it by email.
If you can’t access that address anymore, write to us anyway. We will work out together how you can show that the account is yours.
